FETAC Certification

QQI Logo FETAC (the Further Education and Training Awards Council) was the national awarding body for further education and training in Ireland. In 2012, QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) was established to bring together the standalone agencies of FETAC, HETAC, IUQB, and NQAI.

QQI is responsible for maintaining and providing awards on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ). This means that instead of awards being “Fetac Level 6”, they are now “QQI Level 6”.

What does this mean for Train The Trainer FETAC Level 6 Certification?

The old Train The Trainer FETAC course (code: E30179) was deactivated at the end of 2014. Instead of being replaced by an almost identical version of the old course, it has been expanded to 2, in-depth courses that focus on the skills required by successful trainers:

If you complete both courses and their assessments successfully, you will automatically gain a QQI Special Purpose Award in Training and Development (code: 6S3327).
